Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 October 2026
The short version
- You own everything you make in Takejam. We only use your projects to run the service for you.
- Your media files stay on your device, so keep your own backups.
- Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time. Changed your mind? You get a full refund within 14 days of a payment.
- Don't use Takejam for anything illegal or harmful.
- Takejam's software, design and brand belong to us. Don't copy, decode, reverse-engineer or resell them. If you do, we can close your account and take legal action.
- We may update these terms and our policies at any time. The latest version is always on our website.
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Mahfuj Khondoker, trading as Takejam, based in Madaripur, Bangladesh ("Takejam", "we", "us"). They cover your use of the Takejam editor, the website takejam.com, the AI connector and our other services (together, "Takejam"). By creating an account or using Takejam, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Takejam for a company or organisation, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area and the UK, unless a parent or guardian agrees).
- Give accurate information and keep your email address up to date; we send important notices there.
- Keep your password and your AI connector keys secret. You're responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
- An account is for one person. Share work by inviting teammates, not by sharing a login.
3. Your content
"Your content" means the media you add, the projects and videos you make, your captions and text, and the comments you write. You own your content. We don't claim any rights to it.
To run Takejam, you give us permission to store, copy, process and send your content only as needed to provide the service. Examples: keeping your projects in sync across your devices and with your teammates, playing a review link for the people you shared it with, and making the backups that let you restore earlier versions. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that roll over on their normal schedule.
You confirm that you have the rights you need to the media you use (footage, music, fonts, images and so on), and that your content doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights.
4. Your media and backups
Takejam keeps your media files in your browser's storage on your own device. They are not stored on our servers. That keeps your files private and Takejam affordable, but it also means:
- clearing your browser's site data, uninstalling the browser or losing the device can delete your media;
- teammates can receive a file only while a computer that has it is online.
Keep your original files and important exports backed up somewhere else. We can't recover media that was only on your device.
5. Acceptable use and our software
Don't use Takejam to:
- make, store or share anything illegal, including content that sexually exploits or endangers children, terrorist content, or content that infringes copyright or other rights;
- harass, threaten, defame or deceive people, including deepfakes meant to mislead or harm someone;
- spread malware, or attack, probe or overload Takejam or other systems;
- get around plan limits, security or access controls, or use automated means to access Takejam other than our AI connector;
- copy, resell or rent out Takejam itself without our written permission.
If you break these rules, we may remove the content concerned, suspend or close your account, and report illegal content to the authorities. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first.
Takejam's software belongs to us
Takejam is owned by Mahfuj Khondoker, trading as Takejam. This includes its software and source code, its design and the way it looks and works, its templates, effects, caption styles and other built-in content, the AI connector, the Takejam name and logo, and our website. It's protected by copyright, trademark and other laws in Bangladesh and in other countries.
Your account gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use Takejam through our website, for as long as your account is open and you follow these terms. You don't get any other rights to Takejam, and you don't own any part of it. This doesn't change section 3: what you make stays yours.
You must not, and must not help or allow anyone else to:
- reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode or otherwise try to work out Takejam's source code, structure, algorithms or how it's built, except where the law allows this despite this rule;
- copy, download, save, scrape or extract Takejam's code, design, templates, effects or other parts of the service, beyond what the service normally lets you do;
- change, adapt, translate or build on Takejam's code or design, or use any part of it to make a product or service that copies or competes with Takejam;
- remove, hide or change any copyright, trademark or other notices in Takejam;
- sell, rent, lend, license or share access to Takejam or your account, or let other people use Takejam through your account, without our written permission (making videos for your clients is fine);
- use the Takejam name, logo or anything confusingly similar without our written permission.
If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account straight away, without warning and without a refund. We may also take legal action to stop the misuse and to recover our losses, in Bangladesh or in the country where the misuse happens. You'll be responsible for the damage you cause, including reasonable legal costs where the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits any other rights we have under the law.
6. Teams and workspaces
- A workspace belongs to its owner. The owner, and admins the owner chooses, can invite and remove members, change their roles and manage the plan.
- Projects in a shared workspace belong to the workspace. When a member leaves, the projects stay with the workspace.
- Team plans are billed per seat. If a Team plan ends, the owner keeps editing and the other members can still watch, but can't edit until the plan is active again.
7. Plans and payment
- Free plan. Takejam has a free plan with the limits shown on our pricing page. We may change those limits; we'll tell you about changes that affect you.
- Who you pay. Paid plans are sold through Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy takes the payment, adds any sales tax or VAT, and sends your invoice. Its terms also apply to your purchase.
- Prices are in US dollars and shown on our pricing page before you buy. Taxes may be added depending on where you live.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically every month or every year, depending on what you chose, and are charged to your saved payment method until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account. You keep your paid features until the end of the period you've paid for, and then your workspace moves to the Free plan. Your projects aren't deleted.
- Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before a new price applies to your subscription. You can cancel before it takes effect.
- Failed payments. If a payment can't be collected, we may move your workspace to the Free plan until it's paid.
- Founding members. The first 500 people to buy the Creator plan yearly pay US$36 a year instead of the normal yearly price. That price stays the same for as long as the subscription keeps renewing without a break. If it's cancelled or lapses, the founding price ends.
- Other offers. Discounts, coupon codes and gifts apply as described in the offer and may have their own conditions and end dates. Codes have no cash value.
8. Refunds
If you're not happy, ask within 14 days of a payment and you'll get a full refund. The details are in our Refund Policy. This doesn't reduce any rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
9. AI features
- Features such as auto-captions, background removal and object tracking run on your device and can make mistakes. Check the results before you publish.
- The AI connector lets an AI assistant you choose (for example Claude or ChatGPT) edit your projects. You're responsible for what you ask it to do. Your use of that assistant is covered by its provider's terms and pricing, not ours.
- We don't use your projects or media to train AI models.
10. Changes and availability
We're always improving Takejam, so features may change, and we may add or remove some. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, we'll tell you in advance and you can cancel. We work to keep Takejam running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, especially features marked "beta" or "preview".
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Takejam and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if your free account has been inactive for more than 2 years (we'll email you first). When an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections 3, 5, 12, 13 and 14 still apply after your use ends.
12. Disclaimer
Takejam is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we don't give any guarantees beyond those in these terms, including guarantees that Takejam will meet your needs or never lose data. Some countries don't allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost revenue, lost business or lost data. Our total liability to you for any claim about Takejam is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and disputes go to the courts of Bangladesh. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please email us. Most problems are quickest to fix that way.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change, update or replace these terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund Policy and any of our other policies at any time, at our own discretion. The version published on our website is the one that applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
For important changes, we'll also tell you by email or in Takejam at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Takejam after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using Takejam and delete your account. Changes to prices follow section 7.
